Andrew Summers responds to news that c2c’s rail services will be in public ownership
“With c2c rail services returning to public ownership this Sunday, we welcome the Government’s ambition to deliver a more integrated, passenger-focused rail network across south Essex and into London.
“c2c has consistently been recognised for its strong performance and customer satisfaction, and we are optimistic that this transition will build on those strengths while creating new opportunities to grow ridership, enhance services, and support the Government’s Plan for Change.
“We remain committed to working with rail partners across this part of the region to ensure that rail services in south Essex play a key role in unlocking economic growth and opportunities for residents and businesses. We will continue to make the case for service enhancements and infrastructure improvements that reflect local priorities, improve access to jobs, education, and housing, and also support the movement of rail freight to and from nationally significant ports such as London Gateway and the Port of Tilbury.
